After sociologists discover the consumption of art – in any form – keeps society tranquil and peaceful, those born with artistic aptitude are set apart. To feed the human race’s insatiable need for art, teens with innate talent are taken to The Colony, a secluded conservatory where they are revered and can hone their craft before sharing it with the world.
Identified as an artistic protege as a child, Tessa is destined to enter The Colony at seventeen and become a Creative, like her best friend the year before.
During the debut of her best friend’s art at the national museum, Lessa notices a disturbing message in the debut painting.
After arriving, Lessa discovers that things at The Colony are not what they appear to be.
When her colleagues start to disappear, she must convince her fellow Creatives that a sinister plan is in place, one designed to steal the essence of everything that makes them who they are.
